THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
SLAVIC AND EUROPEAN/ASIAN HAIR
The key difference between hair types lies in their natural structure, origin and level of processing — factors that directly impact how extensions look, feel and perform over time.
Slavic hair is considered a premium category due to its naturally fine, soft texture and minimal processing. The cuticle remains intact and aligned (Remy quality), allowing the hair to maintain its natural shine without artificial coatings, resist tangling and blend seamlessly with fine to medium hair types. This makes it the preferred choice for lightweight, natural-looking and long-lasting results.
Hair marketed as European or Asian typically has a denser, stronger structure and often undergoes more intensive factory processing. This may include cuticle smoothing treatments followed by silicone finishing to enhance initial shine and smoothness. While the hair may appear very glossy at first, the coating gradually washes out, sometimes revealing a drier texture that requires more maintenance.
It’s also important to note that Asian and many so-called “European” hair types are naturally straight. Wavy or curly textures in these categories are often achieved through thermal or chemical processing, which can affect long-term consistency and manageability.
These hair types are generally best suited for:
